I usually have my rice rolls warm but as good weather is coming I decided to try a cold version today and omg! Please, don’t forget the sauce, that is the key of it all for me!
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬:
Salad of choice
(Avo would be great too)
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞:
Sesame oil (opt)
Let's get started:
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬: Cut the veggies in thin lines. In a pan or a big plate, put some warm water, dip the rice paper in it for about 1 minute, you'll see it gets really soft so you can roll it.
When the rice paper is soft, transfer into a kitchen towel, if you do it on a plate it might stick and it will make the whole thing more difficult!
Fill up the roll with the veggies, fold in the side borders and then roll them. (Check my warm rolls video down below if you want to see how to roll them properly).
Tip: Change or add more warm water as you go, if the water is too cold it's gonna take longer as the rice paper is gonna be too ray and "hard", and if the water is too hot it can even melt!!
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞: The quantities can be the ones you like the most, so keep in mind to try it as you go so you can modify it.
I added the same amount of soya sauce and honey and double that amount of peanut butter. A tinny bit of sesame oil and then water until it got runny. Add as much water as you want, it will also make it lighter! And that is it, enjoy!
